Program Mission
The Department of Computer Engineering is committed to providing students with a high level of education in computer engineering sciences. It aims to foster creativity and teamwork in a student-centered educational environment. The department also aspires to develop innovative research and lead the information and communication technology (ICT) sector in Saudi Arabia, facilitating the country's transformation into a knowledge-based economy.
Program Objectives
- Prepare highly qualified and experienced graduates in the field of computer engineering.
- Advance scientific and applied research.
- Provide training programs to qualify engineers and workers in the field of computer engineering.
- Offer consultancy services and develop appropriate solutions.
Program Outcomes
Graduates of the Department of Computer Engineering will possess computing skills and the ability to:
- Apply knowledge in mathematics, sciences, and engineering.
- Design and conduct experiments, as well as analyze and interpret data.
- Design systems, components, or processes to meet specific needs.
- Identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems.
Admission Requirements
In addition to the admission requirements outlined in the Unified Regulations for Graduate Studies in Saudi Universities and the organizational and procedural rules for graduate studies at King Saud University, the department stipulates the following:
- Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in a regular program from King Saud University or its equivalent in one of the following specializations: Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or computing-related disciplines.
- Applicants must have a GPA of 3.5 out of 5 or higher (or its equivalent) in Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering, or a GPA of 4 out of 5 or higher (or its equivalent) in other specializations.
- Applicants must achieve a minimum score of 75 in the quantitative section of the Qiyas exam or 144 in the quantitative section of the GRE to accommodate applicants from outside the kingdom.
- Applicants must score at least 45 in the TOEFL iBT exam or its equivalent.
Degree Requirements
- Successfully complete 25 credit hours of master’s coursework.
- Successfully complete a master’s thesis.

B.Sc. in Computer Engineering

Program Information
The B.Sc. Program In Computer Engineering Is Accredited By The Engineering Accreditati on Commission (EAC) Of ABET. The graduate performs setting up standards for computer systems, providing technical consultation, as well as supervising installation, configuration, and operation of equipment. In addition, the graduate should be capable to design, develop, manage, and monitor the performance of computer networks. With the Kingdom's entry to the manufacturing era, the graduates will take an essential role in designing computer systems and computer networks. The graduate will design control systems for automated tasks in laboratories and factories.

This group research interest is focused on computer architecture, digital design, digital system testing, parallel and vector processors, embedded systems, and VLSI design.
