STC’s Artificial Intelligence Chair
Vision:
Our vision is to find solutions to problems in different areas of life by using high-impact AI research and applications.
Objectives:
• Conducting research and studies that result in high-quality and high-tech innovative solutions.
• Providing consultations, and developing projects, which are based on artificial intelligence and information security techniques.
• Holding specialized scientific conferences and meetings.
• Cooperating with local and international research and development centers.
• Training Saudi staff by the research-partnership program with international universities.
Provided Services:
• Supporting students and researchers and actively participating with them by providing technical advice and paying fees for research publications affiliated with the Saudi Telecom Company Chair of Artificial Intelligence.
• Training graduate students.
• Conducting and publishing outstanding research and studies to provide high-quality and high-tech innovative solutions based on methods of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and computer networks.
• Having specialized scientific meetings with students and researchers of Saudi Telecom Company Chair of Artificial Intelligence, and providing them with consultations that help to solve any problems they face.
• Cooperating with other research centers within KSU, such as the Center of Excellence for Information Assurance, the Center for Computer and Information Technology, and other research centers.
• Establishing a research and scientific partnership with local and international universities and other institutions, such as partnering with Rashid Bin Humaid Award for Culture and Science, in the United Arab Emirates, in arbitration of research entitled "Measuring the Credibility of Social Communication in the Circulation of Medical Information: An Empirical Study". Another research that has been partnered with a local university, which is Princess Noura bint Abdulrahman University, is "Prediction of the Impact of the Corona Virus Outbreak on the Tourism Sector, Employment and Gross Domestic Product Using Data Mining Techniques".

The most prominent achievements (awards - scientific publications):
• The number of published ISI scientific papers are (62).
• The number of events, including training, workshops, and conferences are (3).
• Implementation of two applications (AP) for the Saudi Telecom Company (STC) (sentiment analysis, information security). The two projects have been completed and delivered.
• Patent (fax machine in Braille): -
- The aim of this innovation is to manufacture a fax machine that sends or receives Braille documents (for the blind) to and from different locations. It was created by Abdo Gumaei, a student from the College of Computer and Information Sciences.
