Community Relations Unit
Universities have three functions: education, scientific research, and community service. The Community Relations Unit was formed in the College of Computer Science and Information with the goal of building good and successful relationships with all recipients of community service; relying on the Kingdom's 2030 vision for social involvement in Saudi universities, to assist the state's efforts, and to accept societal responsibility for the demands and requirements of society.
The three pillars of the Kingdom's 2030 vision revolve around a dynamic community, a flourishing economy, and an ambitious homeland. To create complementarity and cooperation across these three axes, emphasis must be placed on finding mechanisms to activate community participation in universities to achieve the vision.
Engaging universities' roles in community service helps to establish an aware society capable of progressing its citizens and its country. This improves university performance and allows them to compete on a worldwide scale.
Believing in King Saud University's active role in serving the community, the college of Computer Science and Information was eager to engage its action in assisting the community both inside and beyond the institution, and to contribute in bridging the gap between the college and the university community, as well as the college and society beyond the institution.
Coordinating, organizing, and providing services that fall within the specialty of the College of Computer and Information Sciences to interested external parties, whether inside or outside the university. Also, coordinating events that would introduce the community to the college and its activities and the extent to which this intersects with the community’s interests and needs.
