How the Internet Works

The RIPE NCC academic initiative “How the Internet Works” clearly and plainly lays out the basics of the Internet in a light and interesting way. It offers valuable information about Internet fundamentals, governing organizations, connections, Internet protocols and Domain names and Securing the Internet.

Exchanging information, including access to the Internet, is the basis for personal, economic, and political advancement. The popular name for the Internet is the information superhighway. Whether you want to find the latest financial news, browse through university library, exchange information with colleagues, or join in a lively whatever debate, the Internet is the tool that will take you beyond the social media to a burgeoning networked information frontier.

This 2 hours interactive workshop will not require you to have previous experience in any particular area. You will be more comfortable using and understanding how the Internet works after attending this interactive workshop. You will be able to hold a meaningful discussion, not only socially but also with technicians and computer experts.

About RIPE NCC

The RIPE NCC is an independent, not-for-profit membership organization that supports the infrastructure of the Internet through technical coordination in Europe, the Middle East and parts of Central Asia. The most prominent activity of the RIPE NCC is to act as a Regional Internet Registry (RIR) providing Internet number resources (IPv4, IPv6 and AS Numbers) and related services to members in its service region.
