The College of Computer and Information Sciences (Female Section) began to activate the “Student Assistant Teacher” program at the level of all disciplines and various departments in the college during the first semester of the academic year 1437/1438 AH.

It is noteworthy that the program is accredited by King Saud University and is inspired by the experience of the Canadian University of Water Law in the "Undergraduate Teacher Assistant" program, which is one of the most successful experiences in the field of developing the educational process, in order to strive to achieve a qualitative leap and global leadership in the field of scientific excellence. Towards that contribute effectively to transforming the Kingdom into a knowledge-based economic society. Whereas investing minds is the real investment, King Saud University is working to improve its outputs and raise the level of its performance scientifically, skillfully, value and behaviorally to levels. From this standpoint comes the importance of adopting models from successful global experiences, with the aim of development and modernization.

It should be noted that the program had previously been applied in the "Information Technology" department of the College of Computer and Information Sciences under the name of "Itqan" program, and the program achieved a wide demand among the female students in the department. The college is currently striving to activate it more broadly to achieve cooperation between female students in all disciplines and levels of the college.

Selecting a group of distinguished male and female students, who are chosen according to a set of criteria, so that the student will assist the faculty member in teaching some of the prescribed subjects after the student has passed these courses, and under the supervision of the faculty member.

In recent decades, educational and psychological research and studies have shown the importance of engaging students in the teaching and learning process and making them positive and participation elements rather than negative parties whose role is limited to receiving only. This will produce a generation of distinguished academics, whether they are educationalists or otherwise. Effective training helps enhance learning, develop intellectual skills, refine experiences, and help students define their future goals and career orientations
