I have the honor of heading the Information Systems Department at the College of Computer and Information Sciences at King Saud University. I also had the honor of joining this department as a student more than 29 years ago. This Department honored to contribute to the IT revolution in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to contribute to the enrichment and development of information systems and the graduation of qualified national cadres to lead the business sector in the Kingdom.
The importance of this department is not only in being the first department established for information systems in the Saudi universities, but in the distinguished and diverse cadres of the faculty members of the department from internationally as well as locally renowned universities. The Department of Information Systems is the backbone of the College of Computer and Information Sciences, as a large proportion of the students of the college are enrolled in its three major programs (Bachelor, Master and Doctoral)
The department's leadership is working on promising initiatives emanating from the vision of the Kingdom 2030 in raising the quality of the outputs of university education at various levels and linking the modern technologies and business sectors with the outputs of the department
Finally, we are all ears to any proposals that would assist in the development of the Information Systems Department.
Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Al-Sanad
