The King Saud University (KSU) is the largest institution in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with more than 50,000 students studying in more than 23 different colleges. The graduates of KSU are aiming to hold highly prestige and key positions in government and private sectors and contribute towards serving the needs of our nation.
The college of Computer and Information Sciences (CCIS) was established to fulfil the job market expectations by educating and graduating highly qualified computer engineers. It was founded in 1984 with two departments, computer engineering and computer science. The college then expanded to five departments which included the addition of three more departments, information systems, information technology and software engineering.
The department of computer engineering is committed to provide a high quality undergraduate and postgraduate education and maintain excellence in research programs in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
For the past thirty years, our vibrant department has established innovative interdisciplinary research activities and strong links with leading industries in the areas of computer engineering and related fields in order to solve engineering problems that our society is facing with. This close affiliation with government and industry sectors include, in telecommunication (STC, Mobily, Zain), in petroleum (Aramco), in industry (Sabic), and in the banking sector (Alrajhi bank). Our aim is to continue receiving ABET accreditation and having a closer association with government and industry sectors in order to become a leading computer engineering department in the Gulf region.
