Due to the importance of research centers in developing the research activities and academic advancement in different areas, Research Center in the College of Computer and Information Sciences was established to encourage academic research work in the college, coordinate between such works and generate required possibilities for creative and innovative ideas.

To be a leading research center in the fields of Information and Knowledge Technologies.

Mission

To foster creativity, knowledge discovery and innovation in Information and Knowledge Technologies for the benefit of the prevailing Information Society and futuristic Knowledge Society by providing funds for the creative and innovative research proposals.

Objectives

• Support and maintain quality scientific research.
• Facilitate interaction and collaborations among researchers.
• Encourage creativity and recognize innovation.
• Encourage adoption of new technologies.

Activities of the research center include:

• Funding research projects proposed by faculty members of the college.
• Supporting research work for graduate students.
• Monitoring the progress of funded projects.
• Publishing research outcome.
• Organizing lectures and seminars.
• Extending support to the KSU journal (CCIS division).
• Supporting the consultancy studies.
