In RIYADH, Saudi Arabia Kingdom — 18/07/1431 Hijri corresponding to 30 June 2010—King Saud University (KSU) signed an agreement with SAP the first software ERP company in the world, to join the SAP University Alliance program. This agreement is to allow the students of Information Systems Department of the Colleges of Computer Sciences to have courses on SAP using the SAP University Alliance program.
The SAP University Alliance program is a global endeavor that provides university faculty members with the tools and resources necessary to teach students how technology can enable integrated business processes and strategic thinking, giving students the skills to add immediate value to the marketplace.
Currently there are more than 150,000 students at 700 institutions of higher education participating in courses supported by SAP software around the world. Member institutions access the latest SAP applications via hosting from University Competence Centers (UCC). These centers serve as application service providers. Faculty can concentrate on teaching SAP software, while all technical support comes from the UCCs.
Both the KSU students and SAP company will beneficiary for this agreement. The students will have the great opportunity to learn and practice on the first ERP software in the world, this will help them to get a real chance of work with big companies using SAP like Aramco, Sabic,…. SAP company will have the chance in the future to get easily some consultants who can help in the installation of the software base on the needs of the customers located in the Kingdom.
